Tun Perak) ini adalah merupakan masjid kedua dibangunkan di Kuala Lumpur selepas Masjid Melaka (sekarang Masjid India) yang terletak di Kampung Rawa yang dibina oleh bapa mertuanya En.Baki. Masjid ini juga adalah asas kepada pembinaan Masjid Jamek Kuala Lumpur yang kemudiannya siap dibina pada tahun 1909 yang terletak tidak jauh pada tapak asal Masjid ini.
